As scarey as they look, they can be sweet, soft and full of personality. We had a chicken that got hurt. I brought her in onto the porch in a basket. She grew accustomed to the lifestyle and showed up each evening long after she was healed to go to bed. She hung out with us and loved the special attention.
The thing that's great about chickens is the eggs. Home grown eggs are the best. There is no comparison to those you raise at home with the ones you buy in the store. So delicious. So good for you. Actually fresh. And you have control of how clean or organic they might be.
